Terms & Conditions

Payment: Payment in full or a minimum of 50% of the order value is required upon placing any order. When the order arrives we require the balance paid in full within four weeks, unless a payment plan has been agreed.

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total order value is required at the time of ordering.
Cancellation: If you decide the gown(s) is no longer for you or your circumstances change we expect the remaining balance in full when the gown(s) arrives as this is a bespoke service and a contract has been entered into.

Payment Methods: We accept the following forms of payment:- Credit/Debit Cards, Bank transfers or Cash (Please do not mail cash)

Ownership: All goods will remain the property of City Brides Ltd until full payment is made and the goods are collected where they then become the property of the customer and can no longer be kept in store due to insurance purposes and limited storage space.

Delivery date: The delivery date is an estimate only (normally 3 to 5 months) and is not to be the essence of the contract. In some circumstances, it may be possible to arrange delivery in less time than stated (an extra charge will be made) and when possible the approximate date will be shown overleaf.

Size variation: Dresses, bodices and skirts shall be ordered in the appropriate nearest regular size to the customer’s measurements. As recommended by the designer’s size chart at the time of ordering. The gowns are not made to measure and will need alterations, such as bust, waist and hem. If the wearer grows, gains or losses weight in between order and delivery no responsibility will be accepted. If the customer has requested a different size to that suggested by the size chart a measurement disclaimer must be agreed and signed before ordering.

Fabric content: The colour swatch books are used as a guide only as there may be a slight variation in colour. We do recommend that all bridesmaid dresses are ordered in at the same time to help prevent any colour variation between dresses.

Delivery: All gowns must be thoroughly inspected and seen to be in a satisfactory condition and in accordance with your order instruction before the garments are paid for and taken from the premises. No responsibility will be accepted by City Brides thereafter and you will be asked to check the gown(s) (this includes sample gowns and sale items). Our suppliers only accept returns on faulty gowns within four weeks of the gown(s) arriving into our store. After which any faulty amendments would be carried out by our seamstress and paid for by our customer. (This does not include sample sales)

Sale & Sample: Gowns may need professionally cleaning and some beading may be missing as they have been tried on. There are no refunds on sale items.

Collection: All garments must be paid for in full within one month of notification of delivery to City Brides and then collected from the shop.

Alterations: City Brides can give an introduction to an independent dress maker. All alterations are charged at her standard rates. City Brides will not accept responsibility for any alterations that are carried out after ownership has been transferred to the customer, all complaints must be made to the alteration company and they should deal with it appropriately.

Accessory orders: All accessories are non-refundable but can be exchanged if you have changed your mind, as long as they are in an unused condition and at the discretion of the staff.

Payment Plans: We will work out how many months it will take to order and pay for your dress in time for your wedding. We do not charge an administration fee or interest for this service. All dresses must be paid in full before they can leave the shop. If you decide not to finish the payment plan there are no refunds even if the dress has not been ordered.

Size variation disclaimer: I understand that I am ordering against the size chart, therefore the shop cannot be held responsible if the gown does not fit.
